Western Venture Inc.Western Venture Inc., of Gloucester, MA, hired Bowman Refrigeration to design a refrigerated seawater system for its fishing vessel Western Venture. In order to provide the benefit of our specialized construction experience without the expense of doing a major project 3,000 miles away, we built two identical, self contained systems in our shop and shipped them out completed and ready to run. Each system has two 100 HP Sabroe reciprocating compressors and one flooded chiller. Upon arrival in Massachusetts, the shipyard needed only to move the skids onto the boat, weld them down, and connect water and power. The pictures to the right show the progression from laying the steel for the base frame through loading the systems onto a 40 ft. flatbed. |
